Ziti or zite is a shape of extruded pasta originating in the Italian region of Sicily.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ziti
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 15 oz ricotta
  • 8 oz mozzarella, shredded
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley

Method

  1. Heat oven to 375F and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook ziti in salted water until very al dente and drain.
  3. Toss pasta with sauce and about half the cheeses.
  4. Transfer to the dish, top with remaining cheeses, and cover with foil.
  5. Bake 25 minutes, then broil briefly until browned on top.
